The advantages of a madical career over other professions
Every professions have my advantages and disadvantages. Now i go talk about advantages of one of professions more known. I talk about a medical career.
A doctor have many advantages over other professions when we talk about health. For example they can to save people when they are sick.This advantages is more important when is applyed to our family.A doctor can also have are easy access to the hospitals.
When doctors face situations that put people life's in danger they know what is a better way to save people.
However medical career stand greaters responsibilites, because work with peoples life's.
A student's fight to achieve his dreams and ambitions.
To achieve their dreams and ambitions a student struggle in many ways. Fight studying very long time, making sacrifices fight or give up things like that just to achieve that dream that both aims. And then behind the students there are also other people to fight for their dreams, as parents, who make many sacrifices so that
the children can study and achieve their dreams.
A student fight to achieve his dreams and ambitions
All we want is to have a good job with a well-paid salary. This is our ambition. We fight everyday, studying hard, to have a good job.
Many students don’t try to achieve their dreams because they are so unreal or so minimalists that they are afraid of following that dream. However, other students (the most of them) want to be doctors. It is a dream. It is their dream. They study everyday. They don’t have a weekend. They don’t have fun. Just because they want to become doctors and they have to fight!
Personally, I don’t have a dream but an ambition: to have a very well-paid job and to have a career. I won’t follow my dream because it is a waste of time. In Portugal, studying music doesn’t have future. I could fight against the probably of being without money but I have my feet on the Earth. I know that if I want to be a successful person I can’t study music and I have to fight everyday to not think about my dream but about my ambition. I fight against the teachers who don’t like me, I fight against the boring subjects, I study hard.
Every student, whose ambition or dream (we must distinguish dream of ambition) is become a successful person, have to fight every day. They have homework, they spend ours in front of a book, they have teachers who undermine them.
I ask myself if it worth or if it don’t. I want to believe that it worth.

Often these dreams are not the same as the ambitions. Often would like to follow a dream but will pursue a goal that only possible is because much studying. As the medicine for example many will because it is an ambition and endeavour to do so. These should follow his dream so that later do not repent. If I was in Vicent´s place, I choose what to send my heart, wich in this case was to be a doctor.The truth is that we are obliged to take decisions very early in our lives.
we are very young when we have to choose our future but I think we should follow what you really like.
In conclusion I think we don´t leave the others decide for us and this text shows that because if Vicente had followed his dream he would be a good doctor because ultimately save his wife.

In ny opinion, Vicente is not an unhappy person but he is resigned with is life.
He gave up his dreams in order to do what society in geral told him to do. Although he thinks and says that he has a good job; "I have a good job.", he in some way "uses" his wife to show the world that he could have been a good doctor. If only he had the chance to follow his heart...
His story inspired me! I have to do what I want to do, I can ear what people have to say about my future but the final decision is mine.

In my opinion, by writing this short story, Grace Paley wants us, younger people, to learn a very important lesson.
By reading Vicente's story, we are having a glimpse of many teenagers life presently. We should always ear what other people have to say but we should always have the final decision. I believe that the author is trying to tell us to never give up on our dreams and that no matter what, we should always trust our instincts so that we can never think of what we could have been or what we could have done.
Effort, determination and ambition are words that we should always have in mind because they will help us to fight for what we really want to have in your life.

The advantages and disavantages of medical career are so many! But I only will speak about the main advantages.
I think the advantages of practing medicine is that doctors can help people, lives. Above all they have a lot of responsibilities. But if someone dies, their relatves think that are doctors fault. And sometimes there.
A medical career can be very interesting.
A doctor may to win, , lost ond lost of money if they work in a private hospital. But I think that many of them, have the idea of making a difference in peoples lives and must be exciting making a difference in someone.

I agree with sentence. The student´s fight to achieve his dreams and ambitions but more and more is very difficult.
Nowadays one student to get can reach his objectives is complication, alone get himself go to devote oneself to study and dedicate else the dream not se realize.
In my opinion, when himself have the dream to be due to fight for he until the end, independent of obstacle the to defeat.
I think that the raven must follow his dreams because it is not worthwhile to "fight" for a future that we do not want and that we do not like.
We should have fought yes for a best future doing something that we like, that it makes us feel useful and makes us feel when they were carried out, in other words, our profession of dream.
I think that the reuven must not follow alone engineering because they think that he has the stuff and that a good engineer was giving, but yes it likes itself and one is that it wants to do.
This small history makes us think that our choice for the future is very important and that we should have decided with the whole care on our profession.

Vicente allowed others to decide for him, I, in his place, didn't accept this situation.
Have a job that we like is very important to we are realized. when we are adults we need work everyday and with the same people, so if we don't do the things that we like we are sad and the atmosphere in work place would be very heavy.
After this, i think that my position is "claire", I would think with my own brain because future is mine and consequences that my choices too so I advise you to do the same: "Think with your brain and dont't forget your Heart"
I do not agree with the decision by Vincent because he did not follow his dream, followed a profession just because other people told him he would have more success in being an engineer I am the doctor who was her dream.
In my opinion the Vicente should have followed what he wanted, as a profession has been a life-and so it is important to do something like that.
It is important to ask advice when it's time to choose a profession for our future, we need to inform us about our profession and want to communicate with other persons exercising the same profession, so there is less likelihood that when we start to work disappointed that we stay with this job.
Choosing profession is very difficult, but decisions of life that we all have to take, so we need to think very well within our capability, which will have to fight in order to achieve our objective and we must choose a profession that we are us to decide and not the others decide for us.
The Vincent if he had followed his dream would have been a great doctor and worked as really liked.

A student`s fight to achieve his dreams and ambitions...
In my point of view, this is a very short story but with a great lesson of life...
Most of us, students, don`t try to achieve our dreams and ambitions with fear of to face the obstacles that emerg in our lives, like for example when we take a bad grade in a test and we simply give up to study for that subject, when what we should to do is effort so that we could pass in the subject...
This is an example of most obstacles that we have to surpass in order to achieve our dreams...
Fortunately, the great majority are those students that have BIGS aims for life and fight for them.
Most of them want to be doctors like Vicent..., it´s a dream... It´s my dream...I study everyday. I don´t almost have weekend..., but I know that this are littles sacrifices that I have to do to achieve my dream. The main priority in my future job isn´t a well-paid job but yes be successful in my job. Be successful is much more than money.
If we are recognised if we doing our jobs well we are successfil. Payments and money comes after work...
The most important is that we have always believe in ourselves no matter what anyone else says...

Today, we students have to work hard to achieve our dreams in business, because to get a good job we have to look far.
Most starts from an early age to prepare its future, making the impossible possible and to have his future secured, others do not or do not come better to regret later and even then there are those who will not begin to studying when they come they are running out of time to prepare, few others can not.
Most of us can realize their dreams and that's good, because what we fought for both us and we made.
I repent me of this year alone "wake for life" because if last year had studied more this year had their lives easier.
In my opinion a student who has a dream or ambition is to have a good job is to work as much as possible, fighting against laziness and even some teachers that we will not make a living but the most important of all is why this study is that when our job.
In my opinion although the vicente had struggled against everything and against all, he let to take a little for the life and other people's experience without struggling what owed. Because I think when we have a dream should fight for him with all our forces, because it is only like this that we will be accomplished and happy.

Increasingly, students have to work so that in the future may have a good job, because the country is going through a crisis socio-economic and get a job is very difícil.Se a student wants to succeed in the future have to look very, sometimes, fight some teachers, make some sacrifices like losing an exit with friends and fight with all forces against laziness but not always in these situations and we do have parents and teachers to advise us and help us do what is best for us.

Some or more students have fight to achieve his dreams for some the dreams are complicated because some are helped for parents but some don´t are helped. For this the life of student neither ever is good but this students fight and fight for to make real the dreams.

I chose individuals ' lack of determination in pursuing their dreams, because I think that our determination and persistence are basic for the realization of our dreams. Us it suits, then, to own knots, individually, to decide what we intend to be the best for us, trying to find a job that is going to carry out us in all the aspects. For that it is necessary to battle day by day, in the school, at home or even in the explanations... Thinking whenever one day the whole our effort will be rewarded. However, the things not always they run as we plan. But it is in this height that we should not have lowered the head and cross the arms,persisting and looking for a solution to make the dream for which we fight so many and so many years, at our second home, the school.
That's right, a dream is always a dream that only with much work, great pledge and great dedication will be carried out.

In my opinion the career choise is a decision very difficult but, at the same time, very important, because it is a option that influence our future life.
This story show us that this decision as to be made by each one and not by others because, each person has to live is own life. So we must find our vocation and follow our dreams.
I think that Vicent didn't choose the right way, because he forgot his dream and later his vocation spoke louder. And, in spite of having a good job, he must have a better one. So, I think that this choise must be chosen with conscience, to don't regret us!!!

I think we all have a idea/dream of what we want to become in the future and my oppinion is that we must fight for that dream at any cost and we cannot let people fool us about their own ideas for us.
Like in the text the young student Vicent wanted to become a doctor, like he said "I want to become a doctor with my whole heart", he was with the clear idea of being a doctor, and one day a teacher told him that the best for him was to become a engineer, whose Vicent beleaved, because he thought that the teacher was older and had more experience in life than he, so he followed a carrer as an enginner, which he didnt regreted but he whould become an excelent doctor. For me the all point is that we must follow our dreams and become what we want and not what the others want for us, so my advise is to beleave in ourselves.

In my opinion the short story is a good example of life, mostly for us(the students) because we are in a time of our life where we have to take important decisions for our future, we should follow the advice of history and make our own decisions, reflecting alone and calmly, because these decisions may in the future to be crucial to our happiness as well as for those around us. We can see that most of part students have the ambition to be a doctor, but they have a long journey in their life, because is a career that is very difficult and some students in the end don´t make their dream come true, but with work and lack of determination your dream can be realized.Personally i don´t have a carrear dream, i'm still very confused about what i should follow, but i know that i need to have success on the exams and tests to go to the university.
Also we need to have ambition and pleasure doing a thing that we like, and not only for the money, because is very important work on a area that you are good. So in conclusion i can say that without work and dedication your dream will be more difficult to realize, and also is important to follow a thing that you really like and not think about cash, because portuguese people think more on quantitive of life, "how many stuff i can buy" and not qualitative of service and work method.

In Vicente's place, I would be a doctor. I wouldn't allow someone else to decide for me because if I wanted to be a doctor, I wouldn't be an engineer by other person to advise me.

nowadays, the society is very undeterminated, even when it's about our dreams. we let the society control and influence our beliefs. in the case of students, just because a test or someone we respect says that we should follow a path instead of other and give up our dream, it doesn´t mean we have to do it. We have to think about our aims, we have to follow our heart and don´t let others take this decisions for us.
If we're wrong, well, we'll have to live with it and deal with the consequences, but at least we did what we wanted to do, our dream.
the vocations tests can help us if we're confused but it doesn't mean we have to do it.
Yes, we can have a good job, a nice salary, but if we think it through, we'll know that's missing something. we can't deny our vocation because because of the hopes and dreams of someone else, we have to focus in our hapiness and do whatever we choose for passion, not for obligation.

In our life we have to make some decisions that possibly will not be most correct, and some day we might regret. That’s what happened with Vicente. He had a dream, being a doctor, but because of his mathematics’ grade everyone told him to become an engineer, and he didn’t follow his dream.
He had everything to be a good professional. He had the knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases and deformities. He had intuition and he knew every part of the body, every organ., he had the ability to tell when something was wrong or was likely to go wrong. Although society thought that this wasn’t enough. This is alweays happening, we always go through others ideas, because we always think that it will the best for us, and we forget that it not our dream, but maybe someones dream.
Maybe we will have a good career, maybe we will have a good life, but its not what we wanted.
I do think that is never to late to pursue our dreams, and that we must fight for what we want.

Most individuals have a lack of determination in pursuing their dreams, they just give up at the first shot. Despite knowing what they want, people's lack of motivation and support makes them step back from their dream career.
After High school students conclude the 12th grade, they have different attitudes and expectations about their future career.the lack of knowledge about the areas to follow can desmotivate a lot of students, because there are so many things and when we decide to do something we like, there can be obstacles, and most students don´t want too much troubles or complications, they just want to have things easily, with no effort, they give up too soon, without fighting. of course there are many motivated students that pursue ther dreams and want to do what they love, but the others have to try harder to achieve their objectives and ambitious.

Ambition is a word that can have a negative or positive impact on our lives. If we have too much ambition can become "dangerous" , which is not healthy but if we figth for what we want to a moderate way, is a great quality.
In school we learn to be ambitious, for example, when we want to get a good result. Is in school too, that we found some our talents, in this case, Vicent has talent for maths,so he could become a good engineer.
However,he has a dream, the ambition of becoming a doctor...I think that, when you have a dream, nothing and nobody can "destroy"it.
The dreams are very important for our lives and for our hapiness, so we never give up.
In my opinion, we should always follow our intuition, our heart...

As everything in life we need to fight for our desires.
The student's do not fleeing the rule. They need to go for their ambitions and dreams. To achieve their dreams students need to study very hard and be applied in school.
The students are not alone in this long path. They have the suport of family, that fight with their.
In my case, for example, i am trying to reach my objectives, studying, not very hard, but studying and having the suport of my family.
We all have to do some effort, to try to reach our objectives, because nothing appears from nothing.

I think that the short story is a good example from what the students have to do when we go to the secondary school and we have to choose a career to have a good life in the future, I also think that the story represents very well the pressures that students suffer from, our family and school, to choose an area that can give us a good job in the future even if we do not like to follow that specific area. In my opinion, the sentence best sum up the overall point the writer is trying to make is «the control of society over the individual».
I choose this sentence because Vicente would be doctor, but the teacher told him who would be better for him be an engineer because all the tests didn’t show whether he would be a good doctor.
We not must guide ourselves by tests. Vicente must guide himself by what he believe who is capable to do.
If we don’t believe in ourselves, how can other people believe in us?
At last, he neither is doctor nor is engineer. He is a cook and he to be content with this but maybe he has been happier if he has studied for doctor.
The society controls the individual.
I talk for own experience: if I have fallowed my dreams and my “heart” I would choose a future in arts area: music or drawing. But my teachers of 9th grade tell me who I was a good student, dedicated; I should choose a career in area of health. Like I don’t meet the kind of jobs in area of arts, I am in scientific- technological area. I’m in this area but isn’t my dream is the dream of my teachers.

Nowadays, the society have a important roli in our professional life, but shouldn't be like this. Unfortunaly is, because we let this happen. We let the society interfere, because we believe that her have a more wise choice than our choice, and then we give up our dreams, our choice, we give up what really matter for us, instead fight for it. If I had been in Vincent's place, I wouldn't take the same decision that he took. I would follow my dream, however difficult it was and even if people try to make me quit of what I wanted. I think if people are forced to pursue a career or area that they don't like, they will wake up every single day with heavy conscience due to their decision and therefore people aren't happy living that way. But for we can have this " deam job " ,we need to have good grates in school and go to the university to get a course. That means fight against everything that could tomb us to the floor and desit of our deams.
In conclusion. We should always ear what other people have to say but we should always have the final decision.

In my opinion a Doctor Career is very Dificult. I mean, every career even of looks like easy or hard, in the end is hard… Every is hard…But being a Doctor in my opinion is the most Dificult… Let me Argument… For example, they have to have patience… I mean, in the hospitals most of 50% is old people…and we know how boring can be the old people…so they have to have some patience (some is not enough)… They have to have a enormous knowledge! They need to know our body and system. They need to be Responsible even sometimes they are crazy.. (we see in the News many times how doctors do mistakes)… But Doctor career has a great advantage, they love their job (at least they seem). They want to help people.. some of them love so much being a Doctor that they don’t think in the work, to them is already a hobby.
We know doctors have a lot of work to do, so to me Doctor’s Career is one of the most difficult career… but one of the most well paid

Now a days, there is not so much students that work to get their ambitions…its called laziness…
To me, Students have to work hard to get their objectives. It’s simple, they don’t have a job, they don’t need to cook or to do some work at home that spends so much time. So they can focus at Studies, very well. Of course they need to have some spare time, I’m not a person that throw stones to others roof because mine are made by glass too. To students Every day is a Struggle, they need to work, they need to study hard. It is needed for their future!!Now a days a person without skills, without high school, or even university, will have just a lame work.. I think students should live the real life once in their lives, to they see why they need to study so much, to get good qualifications and to have a good job. I’m sure there are many students that think like this, but many others that don’t care about studies, and all is just a game. The students that have this ‘’dream’’ of life , of have a good job, they study so much, they do their objectives, and they still have time to other things like hang out, or something.. Students have to study, that’s a fact.

If I was in Vincente’s place, I would follow my dream. I won’t let anyone to choose for me, although I could accept some opinions.
I would follow my dream, because I if was in the wrong path, for listening others opinion, I could regret.
I say this, because I was in the same situation as Vincente. I didn’t know what to follow, and in my parents’ and teachers’ opinion I should choose Arts, because I draw very good, and then I could be an architect which it’s good, but not what I want. Therefore, I went to the Humanistic Scientific Technologic course, because my dream is to become a doctor, as Vincente.
At this point of my life, I don’t know if I will be able to realise my dream, and probably if I followed my parents' opinion maybe I would regret. Maybe they are right, and I should choose arts, but that’s not my dream, but my parents dreams, and if it’s my life I think that my opinion comes first, And also we have to always believe in ourselves no matter what anyone else says.
If I was regretted, such as Vincente, I would change my life. I would start studying again to become a doctor and to realise my dreams. In my opinion when someone is not happy with the life is taking, he have to search for happiness even if that means turning our life upside down.
We must love what we do, and do what we love.

Job… Career… Work…
All of these words are part of our quotidian life. They are simple words and we hear numerous times during the day.
We don’t give very importance to this word’s but them real meaning in nowadays is very big.
These words mean the future life of a person! Any job is important but also is important to have a job that we have pleases in them! That it is our vocation… that we do with pleasure without obligation. Therefore it is that our persistence is so important during these pertaining to school years so that let us have the career that we always dream and that we better relate.

A student's fight to achieve his dreams and ambitions...
If I had been in Vicente's place, I would follow my dream...
In my opinion, students must fight for their dreams, what we really want. Because, in the future, we should do what we like, and make it for passion, not for money...
To have a ambition is way for we have success in life. I think that we should follow our intuition and our mind for we are happy.

Hi people!!!
In my opinion this text give us the advice to follow our intentions in every decision we need to do.
In the case of this studente he was influenced by the school´s principal and the result was a lost career as a doctor. By other side it was gained a career as a cooker but it could be as a engineer because the student was multitalented...
To me, if the student was followed her dream thas was to be a doctor, now he shall be more happy and well-succed economically and professionaly but he is reasonable happy with the way of life he has.
I want to follow my dreams and i don't give too much inportance with the others opinion´s.
It´s my opinion but i may change mymind in future...

The story of Vicent is a good example from the control of society over the individual.Like him there are many people that choose his career by the pressure and advices from someone else.That people tells us what they think to be the best path for our future and they just want to help us but sometimes the best of helps cames from ourselves, if we listen and follow our inside voice and work hard to achive our dreams maybe we can have a job in the area that we like and be successful at work.I think that we built our own destiny but for that we can`t give up at the first difficulty to cross in our way.We have to respect and understand the opinion of the society but also be smart enough to know what is the best thing for us and for our future.I think the moral of the story is to never give up of our dreams and to fight for thems no matter what everybody else says but if the live lead us in other directions we should not be afraid to work on whatever it is necessary to survive.

I chose the sentence "The control of society over the individual"
I chose this, because, in the text we can see clearly the influence of the schools and society in the man's choice... Probably, if he had not listened to the school, and pursued his dream of becoming a doctor, he could have had luck, and really become a doctor...
This proves, that, sometimes we should listen to ourselves, see what we realy want, and not listen to the society, because sometimes, it is wrong...

I think the ambition is a skill very importan in a student, because help him to reach his objectives and he want to the future with determination and persistent.
In another hand, too much ambition is bad, because sometimes this ambition in great levels could make the students to use incorrect means to reach their objectives, so my advice to be carefull because many times the objectives don't justify the means.

I think that this story is an example for the students that want follow their dreams but have obstacles in their way. I believe that everyone have a gift and have to put in practice that gift. But sometimes we don’t have the necessary conditions to make use of that talent or we don’t fight very hard to get what we want.
When we have a dream, an ambition, a wish of doing what we loves and not what our family want, we have to fight and join our power and our energy because our future depend of us. All the steps that we give now endanger our future and our career.
In the story Vicente was a dream of be a doctor and he knew every organ of our body, but he doesn’t follow his dream. Later he recognizes that he chooses a wrong way and his vocation was to be a doctor.
This means that sometimes our chooses are wrong, but we have to make mistakes to learn and to grow up.

Most students, take a course aspire to have a profession which ensures the future financial level! But some prefer to stay at school and go to work! But this option is not always the right one, because in my opinion the money is important, but above all must be our welfare! We must do something to give us pleasure, something that makes us feel good ... And that way of living is one of the ambitions of those who study! Another of ambitions is very common work abroad, because here in Portugal do not always give due value to what we do to! And there also because we learn more and foremost as people grow! Well, we have a reaidade different, different people, different styles, among other things!
